What’s the Student Explorer Grant Prize?
Created to assist in your personal and professional development, the £3,000 Student Explorer Grant will be offered as a one-time payment to the selected candidate. This can be used to support your overseas studies or work experience, helping you achieve your greatest potential as a globally-minded student.

The Grant will be awarded to one winner every 12 months. The application and selection timeline is as follows:

What’s the Criteria for Eligibility?
To be eligible for the Student Explorer Grant, applicants must be enrolled in a full-time degree or diploma at a recognised tertiary education institution in the United Kingdom. You must also be currently engaged in, or planning to undertake, an international study or work experience within the next 12 months. Students applying for the grant should have at least one year remaining in their course or degree.
What Must Your Application Include?
Your application must include:
- Your contact details, including your name, address, email address, and phone number.
- A brief description of your field of study, the name of your course, academic institution, and details of your planned or current international experience.
- A copy of your academic record.
- As part of your application, please provide a 300 to 600-word statement explaining why receiving this grant would be beneficial to you and why you deserve to be awarded the grant. Consider including the following:
- Challenges you’ve overcome: Discuss obstacles you’ve faced in pursuing studies or work abroad, such as financial constraints, cultural adaptation, or language barriers, and how these experiences have prepared you for future opportunities.
- Contributions you plan to make: Explain how your international experience will allow you to bring back valuable skills or knowledge to your community, contribute to your field, or enhance your future job prospects.
- Academic or professional achievements: Highlight key achievements that demonstrate your dedication to your studies or career, particularly those relevant to pursuing global opportunities.
- Impact of the grant: Describe how the grant will directly support your overseas experience, whether it’s funding travel, supporting an unpaid internship, or enabling you to participate in a crucial project that will advance your professional development.

How Will the Competition Be Judged?
Judging will take place after [insert date] by our expert panel. Every entry will be judged on its creativity, individuality, structure, language, and the potential benefit to the entrant should they receive the grant. Your academic transcript may also be considered as part of your entry. The winner will be contacted by email no later than 31st January.
